Portland & Western Railroad, Salem, Oregon – Banks Wye, 2010-2014
The railroad operated between two districts by switching in the Banks yard. The process took a couple of hours to perform. This project connected the two main lines with a wye track of approximately 3,300 feet in length. It involved two No. 15 turnouts, a road crossing, a private crossing and coordination with the Bureau of Reclamation for the TVID irrigation line crossing. The track was designed for 40 mph utilizing concrete ties and CWR.
